The LeFevre Quartet Working On Canaan Records Debut Project
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (3-10-07) Canaan Records newest recording artist, The LeFevre Quartet, is currently in the studio working on their debut project with Producer Jason Webb. Mike, David, Stacy and Gus are fairly new to the Southern Gospel circuit, however this exciting group of men is quickly becoming known for their fresh four-part harmony, exceptional live performances and soul-stirring songs.
Their latest work is no exception and will include the classic LeFevre Quartet sound with songs by notable songwriters such as Sue Smith and Joel Lindsey, as well as Canaanland writers Kenna Turner West and Lee Black. The album will also feature several songs by group members, David Staton and Gus Gaches, who were also recently signed to Canaanland Publishing. In an album where nothing but high-caliber songwriting and superior vocals abound, this project is already creating a buzz among industry professionals. Canaan Records and Word Entertainment will release The LeFevre Quartets debut album July 1, 2008 worldwide. The first single from the project will ship to radio in May.
Jason Webb commented, "It has been such a great experience working with the LeFevre Quarteton their latest project. They have an amazing vocal sound andI am extremely happy with the songs we have chosen. I can't wait foreveryone to hear this new album."
Mike LeFevre continued, Jason is a great person as well a great musician. Without a doubt, he has pulled the best out of the guys of The LeFevre Quartet. I believe that God placed Jason in our lives to help grow this ministry to its full potential. The whole group is tremendously excited about the new project. We hope everyone enjoys it as much as we have enjoyed recording it.
The LeFevres are one of the oldest, most awarded and respected family names in the world of Gospel music. After a career that spanned nearly six decades, the LeFevres retired in the mid 1970's, but a second generation LeFevre was just setting out to make his own mark in Southern Gospel music. Mike LeFevre, nephew to the first lady of Gospel music herself, Eva Mae, began singing professionally with The Alphus LeFevre singers. In the early eighties Mike sang briefly with the Singing Americans, and from 1985 to 1992 he was the smooth baritone voice for the very successful Gold City.
Mike took some much needed time off, but now he is back with what he believes is Gospel music history in the making. The LeFevres were always pioneers and innovators in Southern Gospel music and Mike continues to make his mark by forming the first group in several years to bear the legendary LeFevre name. Mike has prayerfully and carefully picked the members that make up the new quartet. If you were a fan of the LeFevres, Mike and the guys will take you back with fresh, new arrangements of some very well known LeFevre hits. When you see the group live, don't expect to only hear the old LeFevre songs from yesteryear. This quartet has great new music and a great new sound that will win them fans of all ages. The quartet's members, both individually and collectively, share one common goal and purpose - to exalt and glorify the name of Jesus.
